Expense reports offer a wealth of information on how elected officials and public servants are spending taxpayer money. Expense FOIs don’t need to name a specific person – you could instead ask for all expenses claimed by staff in a mayor’s office, for instance. In larger public bodies, expenses for senior public servants and politicans may already be public, but this isn’t always the case.
